Hi

I've selected a loop sound in the RXP REX player. I can loop the sound without issue via the loop setting, but then the loop stops. Does anybody have any idea on how to get it on infinate loop (auto start at the beginning again) when I click the right MIDI note?

Many Thanks!

drag / drop the midi into the sequencer :) . the advantage of that is you can modify the parts to make even more variations.. you can of course use the lower keys to play back at different speeds / pitch BUT the drag /drop method fits your sequence better.. could drop in the audio directly without RXP, but I'm old school.

Thanks Fog....

That's good advice and useful (I hadn't thought of that!)... but I'd like to play it live.
Any other ideas?

live in what sense ? the loop OR the slices. if it's as a loop.. you could turn it on / off using matrix view.

Play all the slice together sequentually, one at a time, and then loop to the beginning slice (from the end slice). A loop in the classic sense.

Matrix is a good workaround in some scenrios- thanks... Ideally I would have thought the soft-synth itself would be able to supply such an option (quite suprised!), I'd like to be able to quickly and easily audition a loop within the synth itself (i.e. check for hard cutoff points).

I sense an enhancement request coming on....

Cheers...

maybe have a look at "Reyn vs Martin Galway - Wizball " on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTSUR3RHh9M . he uses a loop pedal BUT the loops are 8 or 16 bars perhaps. A few companies sell them, but not sure how they interact with sonar.

With regard to dealing with cutting off say a loop.. again another method would be to just use perhaps volume automation...   RXP supports CC7 (volume)

or do main body / bars of the song , so it goes past the intro.. get it to loop / where the main song is.. when it's released from the loop you have the outro.

with regard to loops, instead of say pressing 1 key to get the sequence , you get far more mileage out of it if you shift notes about and edit them up to make the loop sound more than 6 seconds e.g. the Amen break being the classic example.

I'm from time when samplers like the akai 950 etc had next to no memory, so you had to be inventive and chop up loops.

Thanks Fog!, I have also submitted a feature request with Cakewalk!

maybe they will say matrix view already does it..
