Midi guitar has always been a dream of mine, since the 1980's. Until the FTP was released, nothing interested me enough to make a purchase. Too much latency, too many parts required, and I hate pedal boards. The Fishman Triple Play solves a lot of those issues, but it's stuck on with double-sided tape. Umm... no.
 
Then Godin dropped one into the Session Custom. I can't wait until mine arrives next week. Finally something in my hands that can work well with Sonar.

Wow, I want that! I'm a big Godin fan. I was a dealer for 12 years and they are the same company that makes Seagull, Art & Luthier and Simon & Patrick. My son has a Godin 5 string bass. I sold lots of them and they where my lop of the line brand. I had Gibson's, Epiphone's, Ibanez and Yamaha's but the Godins all played better. Most brands always needed set up. Godin's were always perfect right out of the box. 
 
I have the Roland GR50 but I hate the big control and having to drill holes in your guitar part. It's been sitting unused for a long time. So I was looking at the  Godin Multiac as a solution. But that's a lot of money just to streamline my hardware. 
The GR50 has some OK sounds but it would be better to use what we have in Sonar for sure.
I just joined a cover band that could use with a little keyboard in the mix thanks for the heads up.. 

I had an Exit 22 that I loved, but didn't use often enough. Selling it has been a huge regret, but the money went toward studio gear.
 
This new guitar is a dream come true for me. Godin is indeed highly under-rated as a guitar maker. I first heard of them through listening to UZEB. Michel was playing a Multiac, I believe. Fantastic stuff.

I had the Godin Session Custom w/integrated Triple Play ordered from Sweetwater about a year ago. After a month I finally found out there was a problem because the Guitar Sweetwater had contracted was not the same as Godin was going to supply. The integrated model no longer contained the active/passive circuitry that the regular Session Custom has.
 
Anyway, I could not wait so Sweetwater made me a deal on the Godin Session Custom and installed the external Triple Play. (I don't recall them using any double sided tape as the unit can be removed easily)
 
I'm not much of a guitar player these days but I quickly fell in love with the midi control. What really surprised me was its ability to track well even when I play sloppy. I really did not have to change anything in my playing style to make the unit do as I wanted. It really is a slick set-up that I need to use more often.

I miss mine, just not the weight,that was hard on the shoulders..maybe the triple play will be in my future w/either of my varied guitars -congrats 

rtucker55, I was a little disappointed about losing out on that active/passive mix, but can live without it to have the level of technology FTP brings to the table. 
 
diggerbarnz, I do most of my work sitting down. Weight isn't the factor it was when I was a kid. :) Never could stand a Les Paul for that reason, among others.
