Problem:
I've got no audio registering on any channel/meters/outputs/sound for any songs I've composed.  Midi is fine.  All midi channels show their "hits" on the meters...all automation level changes are happening on the audio tracks... I can see the meters/knobs moving just fine; it looks perfect... except...it's as if Sonar is no longer "seeing" the audio associated with any tracks which is clearly depicted in the tracks; metronome is also silent when turned on... Nothing is registering on the meters in console/tracks or in the "instruments" like Kontakt...no audio from vocals or vsts...  BTW, X3 works fine... no problem.

I just tried reloading something in Platinum before going to work and no change... the sleep fairy did not solve the problem...loading a song in X3 works perfectly... no problems...  I've tried going thru things to see if I did something unintentionally or stupid (my "forte") but haven't figured anything out.

Any thoughts beyond reinstalling?

Background on what I was doing in that session:
Sonar has been near flawless for me and I've been in heaven for a long time...  Was mucking around a lot with trying to stretch/shrink some spoken word (actually compressing it to speed it up) for a rap part of a song...first time I've used a mid song tempo change (slowing it down to rap then  deleting it  and shrinking the rap to see how it sounds "speeded up" ) just buggerin' around with the quick drag method and tried a bit of audio snap pallet muckin, which I didn't really understand much...was into "new" territory for me. Tried muckin' with Audio snap pallet too... got a lot of garbled results so went back to simple shrink method...

While exploring this audio stretching/shrinking , Platinum crashed, I think while trying to save something... but don't recall... and I ended up getting multiple crashes (or locking up... had to reboot windows each time) afterwards trying to reload several versions of me "mucking around"... Finally,  took a break, tried loading another song which I'd completed last week. It loaded but at first my Forte interface didn't register  ("the specified audio interface not found.... blah blah blah),  so I unplugged it, plugged it back in, restarted...all seemed fine but from then on I've got no audio registering on any channel/meters/outputs/sound.  Midi is fine.  All midi channels show their "hits" on the meters...all automation level changes are happening on these audio tracks... I can see the meters/knobs moving just fine; it looks perfect... except...it's as if Sonar is no longer "seeing" the audio associated with any tracks which is clearly depicted in the tracks...

Reinstall issues:
If I can't get this working, what is the best way to reinstall Platinum and not lose what I currently have configured?

Check that your interface is showing & ticked under Preferences > Audio > Devices

Then check under Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings under Playback & Record Timing Master and make sure it's the correct driver

Bristol... THANKS!  I had checked that my interface was "ticked"  but  did not check to see it was selected under "Playback & Record Timing Master"... I just checked and this was assigned to "none"  How this happened I have no idea... but that fixed it.... MUCHO THANKS!  Hours of puzzeling and you solved it in under a minute!

Hey, glad it worked.

This happened to me a long time ago and took ages to resolve. That sort of thing you don't forget.
