With all the different variety of choices in this thread, it seems to me that AZlow's controller software is the common winner (no matter what hardware controller you use).......roooight??

First, agreed the V-Studio controller still works, has very tight integration, and you can sometimes find one cheap because they're no longer supported.

Second, Azslow3's controller plug-in can probably make household silverware control SONAR. It's great.

Third, [link=mailto:kenny@vhprecords:]kenny@vhprecords:[/link] can you share your Push preset?

God, me too on the Behringer. I was actually kinda psyched about them (Never thought I'd be saying that about a Behringer product), but I've been waiting for about a year now and they still don't seem to have a release date. They look cool but I'm starting to think they'll never actually be available....

Behringer X-Touch (all 3) are marked "can be delivered now" on thomann.de
They need some plug-in to work with Sonar. And taking reports about qCon and SSL devices with Sonar MCU plug-in into account, I do not see a reason to be extremely optimistic about out of the box functionality.

It is easy to win when there is no concurrence
Old CW plug-ins was not updated for years, Roland has officially declared the end of CW dedicated devices support, Panorama and InControl has no Sonar support, old devices with good Sonar support (Alphatrack, Faderport) are discontinued, Nektar does not have "advanced" controls (no Motorfaders, no Encoders, no display).
And so my plug-in is the only one which allows functionality on the level of VS-700 (and a bit more), works for any device and still in active development.

VS-700 is a great solution for me.
