I have used Cakewalk for many years and had Sonar X3 for a while on my last laptop. I had it dialed in pretty good and no major issues. That laptop crashed and I got a new one. More power than the old one and I am having a time with Sonar.

The first issue is when I try to record using a plug in I have a delay. I have messed with the Mixing Latency Settings up and down and in all directions and it gets close but there is still a delay no matter what I do. And audio dropouts sometimes when I am only running one track a sometimes when I am no doing anything...

Currently set up:
Sample Rate 44100
Buffer size 4 (anymore and delay is worse)
10.0 msec 441 sample
Effective Latency 44k Hz 30.0 msec

MME 32 bit
Triangle
use multiprocessing engine
use MMCSS
Always stream audio through FX
Remove DC offset during recording

Current Computer:
i7-7500U @ 2.70GHz 2.90GHz
16.0 GB RAM
64-bit

AudioBox USB interface

Can someone point me in a direction to getting this set up properly? It's making me nuts....

Thank You

Hi, in Sonar Preferences in Audio > Playback and Recording, change Driver mode: MME to ASIO. If you don't have ASIO drivers installed on your system, download the latest version from your AudioBox' website.

May I ask why you haven't upgraded to Cakewalk by Bandlab? It's free and a lot more features.
