If I upgrade sonar do I need to have my previously purchased version installed on my computer?

I just purchased a new pc and was thinking of updating from sonar 8.5 producer to professional. Can I just download and install Professional or do I need to have the previous one (producer) installed before applying the new one? Thanks!

There is no requirement to have a previous version installed. The SONAR Professional upgrade is the full retail version of the product. That said, you may want to perform advanced install of 8.5 to get some of the plug-ins not bundled with Professional.
