My Projects are chrashing since the Foxboro Update. It seems that there is a Major Problem with VST´s from other companies like Native Instruments or my all time favorite EQ from Fabfilter.

Last but not least cakewalk comand center forces me to activate my Sonar (Member since 4 Months) otherwise it takes me back to demo mode in 9 days ??????? that´s hillarious.....
Same after the Update of DIM Pro.... Took me hours to bring it back to life

I never had such big problems and bad experiences with a DAW. Never wasted so much time in installing / re installing tweaking to run something for 50 Bugs a Month properly.

switching to Studio One3... installed......all is running fine and perfect... no crackles, no issues, no chrashes...

bye bye cakewalk.

We'll help, but If you advertise another DAW here in your final shot that's classless and troll-like so buh-bye.

Komplete Ultimate and Maschine runs fine here apart from Reflektor where there is a NI bug (just roll back a version of Reflektor).

It seems you have a serious configuration problem at your end (ask yourself why it works for us and not for you).

We did try to help you but you ignored us, (sorry we can't help those who don't help themselves):

I'm sorry you had an issue registering Dim Pro, at least you allowed us to help you and it got resolved (go figure).

Anyway love and kisses goodbye...

  • When I had problems with NI Komplete and its inability to update plug-ins without making them inoperative, I contacted Native Instruments tech support and they sorted things out for me. Their plugs still don't always update properly, but this is a known Windows-related issue and they provided a workaround that solves the problem.
  • When I had problems with Live (which I use for live performance), I contacted Ableton tech support and they gave me a workaround that solved my issue (they fixed the bug in a subsequent update).
  • When I had major problems with Studio One (which I use for album assembly), I contacted PreSonus tech support and they identified the pilot error causing the problem.

Call me crazy, but from this I conclude that contacting tech support is more likely to fix problems than whining in a forum. The reason why companies offer tech support is to help people like you and me. The difference with Cakewalk compared to some other companies is that the support is free, so not taking advantage of tech support is your fault, not Cakewalk's.

FYI Foxboro isn't the latest version, and a VST reset+rescan often fixes "my plug-ins don't work any more" problems.

a) Self diagnoses a crash issue but does not actually find the cause of a crash. Hints it could be NI or fab filter plugins but obviously doesn't actually know the cause of the crash. That's a bit like leaving the car parked, coming back, seeing something has happened to it, and blaming it on aliens. Then reporting it to the police car is broken, the police ring back trying to ask what exactly does he mean, and he never answers the call:
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Sonar-Platinum-stucks-chrashes-after-foxboro-update-m3261403.aspx#3261403

b) Posts another thread, clearly in newbie territory. Decides to call it a review and effectively calls it useless. Very vague. Obvious never RTFM. Again disappears and does not supply feedback apart from typing in CAPs lock.
http://forum.cakewalk.com/review-sonar-platinum-m3226773.aspx

c) I assume he did not contact tech support.

d) Posts here telling people how terrible it is and storms off.

Show a lack of patience. Nevermind we will all live.

Dear Manufacturer,
This morning, your car (my Toyota) wouldn't start.  Seems like this started since I switched from Chevron to Shell gasoline.

I never had problems and bad experiences with a car.  Never wasted so much time in trying to start my car and getting it to run properly.

Just bought a Ford Taurus.  It started right up.  It is running fine and perfect....No issues, it starts every time...

bye bye Toyota...

We can help you troubleshoot the Toyota.  If you're not willing, well then, enjoy the Ford Taurus!
