Is it time for me to get rid of my Frontier Tranzport?  I mean there must be some way to get more control of SONAR and other DAWs via wifi?

I have AC7 and have used it.  it works well, but I just don't use it on a regular basis because it's not the way I work.

however, I don't have a Transport, or a Mackie or Behringer control either.  .

It would mainly be used if I'm recording myself from inside my isolation booth.

Thats where the AC-7 is perfect. In my case....I use it even when I'm out of reach.

I Tried the V-Control with my iPad and didn't like it.  Not all the functions the Tranzport has.  No foot control option to punch in, punch out.  Plus the PC has to be on-line, at least with the wireless router.  I like to have my system off-line when I'm recording.

I read about using an ad-hoc network.  Don't know if that would work for you.  Having so many of of these iPad apps and gadgets for a DAW,  after a while you hardly ever use them.

You should also look into Air Keyboard.  It is not exactly the same as a transport controller, but is very flexible and easy to make a dedicated highly customized remote with all your favorite shortcuts at your fingertips.
