Hi all.

I added a post in Steinberg forums, to try get Steinberg to start selling Hypersonic 2 again ( if they still have the software ).
Plz support my post there, by telling why we should Have Hypersonic 2 Back.   https://www.steinberg.net...c.php?f=74&t=31769

Thanks.

No Halion Sonic is a new VSTi and has nothing to do with the original
Hypersonic 2 in any way.

It is more like the Native Instrument's Bandstand, but with more sounds.

Halion Sonic got a great GUI, but do not deliver ( sound's dull ) and
got a high CPU usage.

I had Halion Sonic and tried to sell it with 60% off price, no one wanted to buy it.
That tells me alot, so i just gave it away for free.

It looks like Hypersonic and was offered to Hypersonic owners at an upgrade price. I never thought Hypersonic sounded all that great either so hearing that its totally new is news to me. Also sort of surprised that you couldn't get rid of Halion sonic due to sound. Maybe its just the hip hop world but we love the hell out of some hypersonic so halion sonic just sounds like a step forward

No offense, but is it a "legit" copy of Hypersonic 2?  (Because it's been abandoned, it's hugely popular in the warez community).  If the answer is no, then that's likely the problem.

But even if it is a "legit" copy, it's, well... old.  Compatibility breaks between software over time, and the devs will only address issues with products that are still supported.

I'd be surprised if it still ran without problems under Win 10.  I don't own it, so of course, I may be completely wrong and it still runs just fine.  Someone else here may be able to confirm one way or another....

Are you talking about Halion Sonic 1 or 2?  I have v2 and I don't find it "dull" sounding at all, and certainly not when compared to what I remember about Hypersonic 1/2.  I don't find the cpu usage all that high either (on a fairly modern system).

Halion Sonic2 is a subset of Halion (I'm at v5, but latest is v6), and much of the soundsets are straight from Yamaha's popular HW line of workstations.  I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe a Motif as dull sounding.
