Hello,  I am thinking about getting EW's Voices of the Empire while it is on sale half price through April 30.  It comes with the new Play 6 which requires ILock3.  I plan to get the new ILock3 key for it rather than install the Pace Ilock authorization on my DAW.  Any Sonar or Cakewalk by BandLab users here using Play 6 with ILock 3?  I am told by EW that I can use Play 6 for all my EW instruments that are using Play 5.  Any problems with Sonar?  I have a lot of Sonar projects using Play 5 some of them with multiple orchestral instrumental tracks.  After installing Play 6 will old projects simply load in with Play 5 or does Play 6 automatically preplace Play 5 in Sonar projects.  I am kind of thinking that old projects will continue to use Play 5 but not sure of that. Thanks in advance for your comments and advice.

I can't comment on EW, as I've not got any of their stuff but I'm using loads of other stuff on an iLok3 with CbB with no problems at all.

I use Play 6 with Sonar Plat; final version. Have not made leap to Bandlab yet. Working well here (at the moment) for large orchestral projects. Had some issues at one point; wound up deleting all Play vst and dll files and reinstalling latest Play from the EW download app, whatever that’s called - not on my DAW PC at the moment. Old projects load Play 6 and all is well. Some of my older projects got “confused” and that’s when I deleted all older Play installs. That seemed to resolve everything for me. I use an iLok2. No experience with iLok3. My advice: go for Play 6 when you have some time to deal with any anomalies that occur. EW tech support is usually very helpful if you post on their forum. Good luck!

I've used it with Splat and several other DAWs. It works with them all. There's no reason why it wouldn't work with them or BLCake. Seems a strange question?

Thanks everyone for the great information!  It looks like Play 6 will not be a problem with CbB and my older libraries and old projects that use Play 5.  My older generation blue plastic iLock key (not sure what version Ilock)probably has to be upgraded or use my PC as the Pace dongle.  I'm just about to bite on the Voices of the Empire special offer. Thanks!

Don't know about Play 6, but Play 5 works perfectly with the iLok dongle

I use Ilok 2 and was forced to upgrade to Play 6 only, which is only 64 bit.  I wanted to keep older 32 bit play to coexist with Play 6... it won't.  Play 6 works fine in Cakewalk Bandlab, but there is apparently a need to go to settings, and turn off "Zero controllers on stop", or the volume can drop off.  I haven't tried it yet, but there is a thread about this that's newer than this thread.
