It's definitely not my system...! I trust my rig one thousand percent its definitely Platinum. Never had an issue like this EVER on any system while running a Sonar product!

Sorry but trust doesn't fix problems... Work it out, it's not happening on our systems what makes your system so perfect :)
How would you know it isn't your system? There's clearly something going on isn't there?
Let us help you troubleshoot your problem.

Standard advice and maintenance first...

Backup!

1) Get windows update up to date.
2) Keep your plugins on the latest versions.
3) Update your audio interface firmware and drivers to latest. Sometimes it's best to do complete driver removal before you upgrade.
4) Disable intel speedstep.
5) Goto intel driver update site.
6) Update your display drivers
7) Run chkdsk on your hard drives
9) See if it makes a difference running Sonar as admin.
10 ) Check you are running ASIO drivers in Sonar preferences. Make sure Sonar does not share out the driver.
11) Disable all sound devices in Windows control panel -> Sounds.
12) If you have ASIO4ALL installed remove it!
13) Temporarily disable your antivirus
14) Defrag.

The tools that might help you troubleshoot your issue is:
latencymon, process monitor and process explorer.

If this does not make any difference on a new project or you need help please post more info about your system and more specific issue. See if you can rule out that it isn't a particular plugin.

Hi Doktor Avalanche, you mentioned to remove ASIO4ALL. Which ASIO would you recommend,  and where can I get it?

ASIO driver for your audio interface.
Please see point (3) above. What audio interface are you using?

We need to know about your full system specs as everybody is saying here. See my signature for an example.

Thanks..

Hi Doktor Avalanche,  I'm using a Beringer Xenya 1202 USB mixer which just simply plugs directly via a USB port and to my knowledge doesn't require any driver (s) ?

Hi Dave. Check out the thread you posted. You are getting some good insights on your device.

You may need to consider getting a new ASIO interface (for example I use a Focusrite Scarlett series unit and it is rock solid).

But yeah... go check back in your thread. Cheers.

Are you sure you are not running ASIO4ALL?

Anyway you are right no drivers required. Ouch.

At this stage I complete agree with what Beepster says above, consider something like a Scarlett.

Go through my checklist first though, 1 to 14 to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks.

At risk of repeating myself again, please post your full system specs and check post #11/supply full feedback.
Smart money is on the interface right now being substandard, but there isn't much more we can comment on until you supply feedback in much greater detail. We need to know the full picture.

Thanks..
