Hi,
This is my first project in Sonar Platinum (have been using X1 earlier). I have been facing a lot of drop out and latency issues and now ended with a fast bounce problem. The exported audio does not sync with the drum track. Im using geist for beat programming. Focusrite Scarlett drivers on Windows 7. BounceBufSizeMsec  seems to be common solution in some other threads. It is set to zero but does not help. I finally disabled fast bounce and it worked. Are there some other parameters that need to be tweaked for Sonar to stabilize. With X1 I just set the latency to the lowest and never worried about any drop outs or timing issues in the past few years. Slightly disappointed with Platinum on this front on its stability given that X1 works like a gem on a the same box. Thanks in advance.

Are you running Geist during the export or have you bounced that to audio? It is important with Geist to be sure the now time in Geist and SONAR correspond, but this seems to require monitoring. Those two now times need to be verified fairly often, it seems... Even syncing to host is overridden by the playback options in Geist.

Bouncing/freezing Geist prior to export would be something to try (so is just audio).

Which version of platinum are you running. Are you up to date with the latest Foxboro update?

Interestingly, I've had this same issue with BFD2 on the project I am now working on which is the first one I've done since the Foxboro update.  I was using notes to trigger  midi grooves in the groove pallet.  The playback was in sync but when I bounced to tracks the drums were out of sync.  I tried fast bounce and that didn't fix the problem.  I did a separate mix of the BFD2 track and found that the drums were more than a full beat off.  I had to manually move the audio mix down into sync.  I have used BFD2 constantly in Sonar Platinum with no bounce to track sync issues prior to Foxboro.  I haven't gotten around to testing the issue on another project.  I don't think the issues here are just with FXpansion products.  I am experiencing different fast bounce or bounce to tracks behavior of VST instruments that use midi pattern generators , namely MusicLab's Real Guitars.  I still need to try another project before commenting further on that.

As Noel suggested, first make sure you're on the Sharkweek (build 32) release of Foxboro. There was an issue with rendering tempo changes in the initial Foxboro release. For dropped notes, make sure your MIDI Prepare Using buffer is at least 500ms. And, lastly, beware of a Bitbridge bug that will add an empty buffer of audio to the beginning of 32-bit synth renderings, which can put them noticeably out of sync if your ASIO buffer is high. This affected the 32-bit BFD ECO.

I can't comment on MIDI-generating VSTs as I don't generally use them. If you can consistently reproduce a problem, definitely file a formal problem report, and/or run the recipe by the Problem Reports forum for possible confirmation.

Thanks Brundlefly, I will look into your recommendations and try the Sharkweek (build 32) I wasn't using any 32-bit vst's.

It so happened that the Foxboro came out just when I was ready to bounce my first mix from Sonar. So don't know if this is a Foxboro issue or it did exist before. Even if I try bouncing the audio the bounced audio is out of sync. The only option out is to uncheck fast bounce and then it works fine. But good to see that I am not alone.  Will try the latest build.

Are there any recommendations for audio dropouts? I have adjusted buffer size and queue size with WDM drivers. Tried asio as well , but no luck. Audio drops out now and then, not as much that I can't work but is still nasty esp after not seeing any drop out for years with X1.

If you disable all the plugins(try Sonar safe mode) and it works you can conclude a plugin is at fault.

Plenty of advice on how to improve latency if you google for it.

Current release is Gloucester, 21.6.00, build 25. When you say "audio dropout" do you mean the audio engine stops with a dropout notification or just some MIDI notes are not heard?

Dropped MIDI notes in real time are usually the result of MIDI Prepare Using buffer being too low. Many systems, regardless of spec, don't work well with the lower default of 250ms that was introduced in X1, and some have reported more problems with it since Platinum. I recommend starting with he old default of 500ms.
