Which version of SONAR are you using? MIDI unto itself has no sound, is simply note data. A soft synth in needed to play sounds.

I have Sonar X3
I think i just figure it out.. all i did was delete the start of the track..
as drag the line at the start to the start of the midi and bingo... seems to be working (so far)

Worked for the drums not the bass
