Some of my recording artists use roland cubes.  They sound better than I expected, esp. the bass combo (man, is it small).  I like the guitarist's fender twin better but then I don't have to haul it over.  This is a bit bigger tho, and tubes.  So the above doesn't carry much weight.

But I'm interested in your take on the unit.

I followed the link and read up a little on it, so yes, I was interested.  I am interested in seeing more reviews and getting to demo one myself, as well.

I was a little distracted though, because I just ordered a Hughes and Kettner 18w head yesterday, that is currently in shipping, on its way to me.  Attempting to down size from the 50w I currently run.

Well they are all obsessing over the new release so sub forums are slow these day's.

Looks worth a try for sure if your in the market. Little to heavy for me. I use a old Princeton I had modified. It's got that blues tone for sure. I also have a even older Gibson Skylark. I just put a Celestion Vintage 10 in it and wow, It's like a whole new amp. The original speaker was shot I guess. I love the tone on 8. Perfect blues. And you gotta like tube driven tremelo.

It's a bit of a weird idea.  I scanned the link.  At first I thought it was a solid-state replacement for a real tube, something that you'd plug into to you existing tube socket.  That would have been pretty interesting.

But it's just a 'regular' circuit that they've crammed into a tube-shaped object ?

Are they planning to have different 'tubes' to get the sound of different artists ?  That would be kind of neat, if you accept that it's a solid-state emulation.

I will definately do that Bat.  It looks like it will be the end of next week before I even recieve it.
I demo'd one up at GC a while back and really liked it, even though I really never got to really crank up the full 18 watts in that setting.  I have been looking for a way to down size, but also liked what you have been doing with the Palmer and recording.  This tubemeister has 18w, 5w, 1w and silent settings, for silent recording when used with the Redbox out.  This amp seemed in theory like it covered all my bases, so I took a bit of a chance on pulling the trigger for one.

I want to try one of these H&K so bad! I've had them on my list for quite some time, and listened to all the demos I could find... Tommy Thayer of KISS uses those and he's got a great classic rock tone.

If only they weren't so blue...
