I have the impression that the recent update, while working fine, somehow
interfered with my x32-bit Sonar VS install. I can no longer insert ReWire instruments (option is grayed out) ... also all my 32-bit Sonitus:fx plugins have gone missing. Despite un-installing CbB and Re-installing Sonar VS, I'm not able to fix this.
Anybody have any idea what can be done to fix this ?

I found that installing the latest Sonar Platinum 32-bit version sorted things out. Every things back to how they should be. Will hold on a bit on the install of the latest version, not a good idea to do a new install while you are in the middle of a project.

The CbB install won't affect the 32 bit components since it doesn't install any.

Yes it doesn't make sense, yet the only thing that changed on my system was the install of BA v3.0.8 + CbB v4.28 + The install of optional extras (excluding Melodyne). After checking out the great update, I switched back to finish off a 32 bit project in Sonar VS. And on starting up everything was a mess ... VS couldn't find any instruments, ReWire's missing and option greyed out, DX + Sonitus plugins not found.

To try to solve the problem I reinstalled Sonar VS + FLS10 (ReWire client) but surprisingly it didn't help on the situation. I then un-installed CbB, no difference, BA ... no difference. I was thinking about rolling back the system to a restore point, but gave one last try ... and installed the last 32-bit version of Platinum ... and all problems where gone.

At the time before the problems starting I had the following Cakes installed, Sonar VS, Sonar Home ed (32-bit), Sonar Platinum (x64 bit), a demo of Project5 v2, and BA v3.0.6. I can't say for certain that there is a connection to BA v3.0.8 and CbB v4.28. Will finish of the current project before I re-install BA and CbB, will update result of it here soon. It's probably just a coincidence.

After removal, I've re-installed BA v3.0.8 and CbB v 24.04.1 Build 28[2018.04] ... and am positive that the install of CbB destroys my Sonar VS install exactly as earlier. Similar Story with Platinum x32 and Home ed x32.
In essence the current installer destroys the 32-bit versions environment.

I observed a curious thing during the install, I chose the Advanced Installation type ... left it at default suggestions ... but I register that for Shared Folders, the option is greyed out and locked ... at C:\Program Files (x86\CackeWalk, next windows for VST Folder is also in the same state ... locked at ... C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins. Both of these defaults seems counter intuitive for a x64 bit app. Could there be some cause of the problems here ?

I also register that I've gotten the weird folder : VstPlugIns(x64) under C:\Program Files, as well as the identical folder and content under C:\Program Files (x86).

I'm messing around at the moment to see if I can find some solution to this.

Those values are stored in a registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\VSTPlugins

Try checking and changing that before the install.

Thank you very much ... that made it possible for me to install Platinum x64 and get it to open and run.
The quick solution for me have however been to re-install the 32-bit version of platinum again, then sonar VS also work properly. The drawback was that I, until now, where not able to open Platinum x64 and CbB complained about how it couldn't find plugins. Looks like it is a bit of a hassle running x64 and 32-bit version on same machine. I'm able to run either 32 bit or x64-bit versions without problems ... the combination doesn't work out well for me.

@KPerry. Taking your advice sorted out the Sonar part completely, and half way CbB. It now installs with the presumed correct folder destinations as far as I can see, yet somethings is not good with the location of the plug ins for CbB. It can't find a lot of them, amongst some for the Pro Channel. It's complaining that it can't find stuff its referring to in the x86 folder section. Must have been some entry in the register I missed before installing.

While this Register Voodo fixed all of my Sonar related problems, as well as CbB indicated install paths ...

I would like to report following problems that remain :

1. Problems with missing plug-ins in the ProChannel. Following plugs report VST Plug-In Error message on selection :
PCS-BusCM.dll,  PCS-CakeSM.dll, PCS-GlossEQM.dll and PCS-NukeCM.dll. The error message is like this : "The following VST plug-in failed to load c:\program files (x86)\cakewlk\shared utilities\internal\<Insert afore mentioned *.dll here> This messages appear when I try to active the related module in the Prochannel, they are visible ... and everything looks good.
2. Usage of RaptureLE1 (Not marked as 32-bit) loads fine, but upon selection of program ... plays a few notes and crashes CbB totally. System is making sound as a broken CD record, the Fault reporter comes up ... but is not able to complete due to communication problems ... and ultimately entire program needs to be shut down in task manager.

Apart from that everything seems to be working just fine on my end.
