The CbB install won't affect the 32 bit components since it doesn't install any.

That seems to be true, but how come a x64 bit app it is looking for some of it's components in a 32-bit location ?

I just did a clean install of the latest CbB, and have it complaining about not finding plug-ins for the ProChannel in the "c:\program files (x86)\cakewalk\shared utilities\internal\..." location. Why would a x64 bit App look for plugs there ?
Is there any way of changing this ? Also when installing the Theme Editor the default proposed install location is the 32-bit section (\Program Files x86\...) which is a weird default path for a presumed x64 bit app.

Search for that path as Data in the registry to find where it's referenced.

IIRC Theme Editor is a 32-bit executable. Not much value in making an x64 version, and having to manage and distribute both, when the 32-bit flavor will suffice for both O/S flavors.

as there's no 32 bit cbb, one might expect the "suite" to all be x64

Thanks man, following your advice made me able to sort things out. Now everything is good with my CbB Pro Channel.

It was a bit tricky as there where 4 different references to the path : c:\program files (x86)\cakewalk\shared utilities\internal\PCS-BusCM.dll but I gambled on the first I found ... and won ... the key is :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files (x86)/cakewalk/shared utilities/internal/PCS-BusCM.dll
I then modified this key to refer to "program files" instead of "program files (x86)" ... did this in a similar manner for the 3 other problem modules also found in the same register area ... and now everything is good.

Once again, thanks a million for all the help. Much appreciated.

For DAWs with a ProChannel, the path to the PC modules is stored in the registry and automatically added to the scan path. There is a path associated with every VST Inventory. For example, CbB uses HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\VSTInternalPath

Interesting, thanks for the tip.

I have 3 entries under this key at the moment :
Name                                   Type            Data
(Default)                              REG_SZ       (value not set)
C:\Program Files (86)\...       REG_SZ       C:\Program Files (86)\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal
C:\Program Files\...              REG_SZ       C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal

I'm not sure what to do, will try to delete the x86 entry ... as I guess it's not supposed to be there.

CbB should only have the 64bit path
