  • TTS1: There isn't a way to add more sounds to this synth is there? (p.2)

It either isn't on by default or I disabled it ages ago. I was in there poking around earlier today (trying to get the O25 connected which as usual took a couple restarts of Sonar) and I'm pretty sure it was unchecked for both i and o.

I know it's a POS and totally unusable but I'm kind of fascinated with the GS thingie. I'd kind of like to figure out how to explore it/make it do stuff. That will have to wait though because really... frack that thing. I have much better toys to explore for now... and I actually NEED to learn those ones. lol

Too many shiny things.

The MS GS Wavetable Synth blows. I switched to CoolSoft's free VirtualMIDISynth running the free Arachno soundfont. Works great. Many other soundfonts are available if you don't like Arachno.

To test for Win10, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, no problemo. Works fine for me.

Doesn't TTS1 only have maximum 4 outputs.

I believe that you are right. But it has 16 channels of MIDI, and I think that is what Beepster is talking about. Then again, I might be wrong

I've always found the TTS1 really useful as a quick starting point for conventional cover versions / compositions at short notice. You know what it sounds like and where they are. Then replacing sounds if time allows.

Partially... I was referring to the 16 midi channel/voices but got all turned around in my head when I posted that thinking there were 16 outs as well (which I knew but had a brainfart for some reason).

Still though 16 voices at once can do a lot. After messing around with it a bit I think I'm going to attempt a TTS only tune using only one instance. It'll be a good exercise for understanding synth concepts I think.

I do seem to have a pretty good handle on it now though. The only thing that's messing me up a little I think is "ports" but I guess that only relates to physical connections? Or maybe routing stuff inside the OS?
