  • Should I load Windows 10 from Windows 7?

Is this something where one does not lose all their programs and Windows 10 loads over 7?
I really do not want to load all my programs again.
Also, do I have to worry about drivers - like Lynx AES16e driver, Ilok Drivers, etc?

BTW, I am still on the original Platinum program - as it works so well I have been worried about updating it!

I think that's the idea, how it is supposed to work. Many have reported success.
Yes drivers are the main point of concern I believe.
I would do a system back up first so as you can just restore if things aren't all rosey in the Windows 10 garden, although you are supposed to be able to roll back, and there have been reports of that being successful, I'd still do my own backup just in case.

Firstly your should be backing up your system regularly using an external hard drive and something like acronis.

You can update straight over windows 7 and keep your settings. I prefer doing a clean install myself.

Should you be worried about drivers? Hell yeah. Google for details.

You shouldn't worry about updating ever again once you have a decent backup strategy. Alternatively learn the hard way when your hard drive fails :)

Thanks...

Btw you have 12 months to make up your mind so please don't rush into it.

The only issue I had when I made the jump from 7 to 8.1 was Addictive Drums and Addictive Keys had to be re-registered. Someone in this forum reported the same problem with their jump to 10. You just have to go to your account at XLN and delete the old computer id and re-register.
