Hello all,

Long time Sonar user here, and I'm having a very odd problem.

I can no longer drag and drop audio - no matter what the bit rate is, into a project. Have I done something weird like 'lock' the Track View or something? I've never experienced this issue before.

This is a global issue, it happens no matter what project I load up.

I can still import audio through the File menu, and the Media bin. But I often work with large SFX libraries where I am choosing sounds via Windows Explorer - and simply drag them in and drop them onto the project. Not being able to currently do this is actually quite disruptive to my workflow (not to mention time consuming) so I am wondering what I might have done wrong. Currently, I am at a loss.

Any help would be appreciated.

Running Windows 8.1 64-bit. Sonar Platinum. High spec computer and have never had any issues with Sonar before (yes, really!)

Might be permissions-related. Try running SONAR as administrator.

This problem has appeared again - coinciding with the latest update obtained through Cakewalk Command Center.

I am running as administrator and can't drag and drop audio from Windows Explorer onto an audio track as I have done for the last 7 months since I last encountered this problem.

Any hints/tips/help would be appreciated.

There's other posts on it. A Windows User Account Control (UAC) thing(?) - thru Windows update(?)

I understood some possible 'fixes' as:
- Don't run as Admin
- Use the Sonar Browser to navigate the filesystem (rather than windows file explorer).

Yes, indeed. The 'fix' is now 'Don't run as admin'.

Truly bizarre, but thankyou.
