I am in favor of changes.  I love change.  I think of these circumstances as an opportunity, and I think the BL and CW team do as well.  There is so much good to gain if this is all approached the right way.  Sure, it may not be for everyone.  Sure, some changes may mean relearning some nuances, but at the end of the day the goal is to make a better product and a long lived product.

As a personal example:  I have a good ol' foxbody mustang that I just love!  Have had it for 10 years, was my first mustang, proud owner.  I put more $ into it than it's worth on horsepower upgrades, etc.  Well, some idiot ran right into it while parked, now it's not worth anything and worse, I can't even drive it.  Well, insurance bailed me out with a check, and now i have an opportunity to make what was an ok car into an even better car.  It's going to take me a boatload of work, blood, sweat, and tears.  Maybe even a little more $.  But at the end (if I do it right), I will have a mustang that looks and runs better than before and will (hopefully) last longer as well.

I don't have to do that.  I could actually take the insurance money and just get the repairs done...keep the status quo.  But, I think about this great opportunity I have to do even more..., how could I pass it up?

Meng. Don't change anything within the DAW itself. Keep it free. Think in terms of upgrades, not updates.

An idea:
Why not use Bandlab assistant like Gibson used Command Center, but instead of monthly free updates and paid DAW subscription, reverse it. Let the current version remain free and sell new features as upgrades as you develop them quarterly. Don't force it on everyone to please the minority. If they want the DAW changed, make them pay for it.

Oh, I get it.  This is a free DEMO, then.  Thanks for clarifying that.  In that case now I know I'll just go back to using X3 before I get any further into using this.  Thank you, Mickey.

I was really looking forward to having "real ownership" of all my Cakewalk purchases with no need for an internet account. To use Platinum as is. To use all of my Cakewalk purchases "as is".

I (and everyone else) was informed that would happen when customers would no longer have access to their Cakewalk purchases via the Cakewalk website.

Do you not still have access to your Cakewalk purchases via the Cakewalk website? My Cakewalk Command Center still works, is it hosed up for some people?

Sorry, but no. Not sure I can agree on those percentages.

Instead of listening to Mickey the Monster, who's lobbying to stopping the development of CbB ... I think you would be better off listening to what BandLab and the owner Meng have to say about the matter. After all he's the one who makes the decisions for the future of Cakewalk.

I would have to say mickeymonster's extremely long post was met with 99.99501% negative responses.
+/- 0.01% margin for error.

I would like the name to change to MENGCAKE an asian flavor. Sounds good doesn't it?

I like Pandan Cake, and I'd love to try MengCake!

Seriously though, who knows what new and innovative ways Meng and his team will take CbB?

From what I have seen so far BandLab are at least as progressive a company as CakeWalk were and I'm happy for them to develop it as they see fit.

You already had your moratorium on changes to the program from November 21, 2017 to April 3, 2018, thanks to the wonderful folks at Gibson.
