If you just disable it, it won't disappear. If it disappears, you have uninstalled it.. Trust me, I just jumped through those hoops. In my case, the Win 10 preview seems to want access to those drivers, but I think that will go away at the end of the month..... oh and they cause havoc because this is a multi-use PC.

If I uninstall, it reinstalls the next session. If I disable, it reloads it next session...and yes, it doesn't seem to make a any difference to the stability/running of Sonar.

It's all ones and zeroes. How could it be different for you? The only way I can see, (of course I am not all knowing etc.)is for a setting somewhere to be different. It can only do what it's told, so in my mind, something is telling it to reinstall drivers that don't load. Maybe a program that makes sure your drivers are up to date, etc........

Try turning off Windows update, and testing..just a thought

Thanks and you're probably right...but finding it is the challenge.

People wanted a more granular installation experience where they could update just one component if desired. I guess the next step is to have both.

Just to support what Craig said, I personally do not use audio loops so would rather not install them since they can take up a lot of room and take a long time to download.  That said, I think we are all familiar with Microsoft's approach to run a full install or select components with check boxes so its not "rocket surgery".  Cakewalk is making rapid improvements these days so it shouldn't be too long until the CCC is awesome like so many other parts of Sonar.
