Sir Les
Hello....seems like my comments are taken with ills on some of the post I have done to try to help people solve for X.

So do not bash me...it makes me depressed.....

I only want to help....So it may not be, it may be...take it, try it, if it does not help...say so, or turn it back on if you want, and return to the trials and errors....and hope someone hits it....Ok.

HD HDMI audio...turn it off...I know there is info to do so..on this forum.
if it is on in your bios??, as some bios does have it ...turn it off in there...

If in the control panel, you find it , turn it off in that...also open in control panel the audio icon and make sure it is disabled and not being mapped or used.

Just saying My Logitec G500 mouse (Not wireless)  had issues in Sonar X1, x2, x3, and plat, and of all sorts of other issues...real bad ones on audio, crashing and unsolvable and unknown problems, and noise from the mouse was the least of that system's demise...HD HDMI AUDIO on my VIDEO Card was causing...No matter what....And I did not solve on that system...it died..
But the new system had also the same mouse, and issues with the mouse and noises...until i was told to turn this feature HDMI audio device off...When I did...the problem vanished!...and all audio became crystal clear, no clicks no pops, and no mouse movement noises...

So, if all else fails...or you want to try this....look it up how to do it...if it is not clear...as someone has posted this help....and It helps!

Also turn off redundant devices that you do not need...of onboard devices, speed step, and vt...if you want to do audio or video, and avoid issues or problematics....was also a tip I got from Sweet water sound audio PC setup a few years back.

Hope it helps....and do not take it the wrong way....it may, it may not solve for...Let us hope.

Blessings!.

Make sure you have all of the latest drivers for your motherboard installed.

I have seen similar issues when people just throw a PC together and do not install the latest chipset drivers and all that stuff that should be installed with a new PC - leaving them running on generic/legacy drivers is a bad idea.

Not having the correct drivers installed seems to be a common issue when people buy 'pre-built' PCs from local computer stores. They just put a computer together, install windows and sell it with no care or knowledge of what this can mean for the performance of the machine.

Status Update:  I used a USB extension cable to get the wireless mouse connection farther away from the other USB connections.  It is now farther away from the mouse too.  But, my mouse freezing/skipping issues have gone away.

This new PC is from HP and is running mostly drivers that HP installed.  An audio driver and the wireless controller driver have been updated, but that's all I think.  Since I'm not experiencing issues right now I think I will not update any more drivers.  In any case, if issues with the mouse pop up again this thread gives me lots of things to look into.

Thanks,
Larry
