I'm using Sonar Platinum. When I drag and drop a drum track, then try to record an audio track along side, I have significant delay. I get this even after turning everything off in the system tray. I'm running 16G RAM. Buffers = 4. Anything lower distorts the drum track. Any help?

it will be helpful if you can give us a lot more information.

are you dragging and dropping an audio loop drum track or a MIDI track?  if MIDI, what is the OUTPUT of that track? (are you using a softsynth or are you using the MS GS Wavetable / your soundcard or what?)

Buffers = 4 is just the number of buffers you're using, not the size of each buffer.  what are your audio settings for hardware buffers?  and which driver mode are you using?

what soundcard are you using?

In Preferences, Sonar reports various latency values - can you please list those?

Also, you are running with what Driver Mode in Sonar?

And, does the latency go away if just prior to playback, you hit the letter 'E' on your computer keyboard? ('E' is a shortcut key in Sonar that tells it to completely bypass all effects loaded in the active project).

Thanks,
