  • [SOLVED!] Help! Velocity??

I thought Miroslav was causing this issue, but something else is going on, because now this is happening with Kontakt.

In stop mode, I load a patch and the level is perfect.  After I hit play, the level drops to almost nothing. If I reload the patch, it is loud again until I hit play.

So far, it only seems to do this in Miroslav, Sampletank and Kontakt. Dimension, RApture, Addictive keys, etc, etc, are all fine.

It's almost like there is a hidden automation, or cc, or something that is reducing the volume, although I certainly did not intentionally set it.

As almost everything, this is beyond me. Can someone help me figure this out?

Edit: I just opened up a brand new 'normal' project file and only loaded Kontakt with one patch, and it still does it!

Since you're hitting play, and did not mention recording, I assume you're playing back an imported MIDI clip...? Or does this affect live performance after hitting play with no MIDI in the project (and Stop at Project End disabled).

If it's only on playing back existing MIDI, check the Event List view for controllers, especially CC 7 and 11, SysEx  program change messages, etc.

It happens with my recorded tracks, and during the addition of new tracks to the project.

I didn't see any CC 7, or 11, only note controllers, and CC3 and CC 5.

I think it might have something to do with my Keyboard?
I have an Oxygen 49, and I just discovered that after I play the track and lose the velocity, if I pull the mod wheel down and up, the level comes back!

I have another clue, it only happens after I hit stop in Sonar.  Before I hit play, and during the playback I can play along fine.  As soon as I hit the stop button or the space bar, the volume drops.

Hi Jones082,

I have a similar problem when using Garritan and sometime ewql play except it only happens when I hit stop. I have a sample loaded, play the track with correct volume / velocity yet when I hit stop the next time I play there is no volume / velocity. This is fixed by deselecting 'Zero Controllers when play stops' in preferences under project - midi. I think that may be your problem.

Hope you get it working.
