No virus scanner or anything here, no.... as far as I know, it's only loading the basic elements that it comes with.
So, there's no way to custom install platinum? I see that you can change the install path, but other than that?
 
 

Run windows update. Defrag.

When Sonar has finally opened, what do you see? Is it the Quick Start screen? If so, try disabling this.

Thanks for the additional posts. I always update windows and defrag my computer. I always turn of quick start windows. I don't think it has anything to do with the obvious... Again, I have X1d opening with a very complex template including a lot of soft synths etc. and it loads in less than 3 seconds.
 
I mentioned the problem occurs with X3 as well.
 
The only thing I haven't asked, is if it may be because it's a demo (Platinum), perhaps there is a certain amount of time used up to check the program status and license etc?

The other way to a real fast startup is an SSD.

 
Have a 500 GB  SSD system drive... it's something else

It takes me 2 seconds to open to a blank screen counting from the button press. Opening the project depends on the size.

Sounds like how X1d reacts when I launch it. ( 2-3 seconds) to blank sonar screen
I wonder what the conflict is with Platinum?...
