A got a new Alesis Keytar which works fine in X3, but it came with a couple of plug ins that jams Sonar's vst scan. They just hang the scan ... both of them, whichever the scan touches first.

Anyone else have any trouble w/ these plugs?

Thanks in advance,

Remove unnecessary file paths preferences /VST settings. Perform a vst reset then perform a vst rescan.

From Cakewalk's plug in manager? I'm not certain WHERE you're referring ... the plug ins or the manager.

Which Sonivox plugin, and have you registered it/them?    I have Loom and Eighty Eight, and while I very much like the plugins (particularly Loom) their licensing scheme is a little... iffy.  Things like attempting to register during a scan and therefore hanging up the process.    If you navigate to where the plugins are installed and rename them from ***.dll to ***.123, does SONAR's scan process complete?

I got the Mellotron and and Lead Synth plugs. I downloaded and installed, but don't recall doing any authorization or registration ... so the "attempting to register while scanning" sounds like the issue.

I'll look into it and report back. I've also not done the renaming trick.

Thanks for the help!

Above applies to Platinum as well as X3E.
Assuming you are on X3E. That is Service pack E.

Thanks for the link! I'm honing in on the issue, and it's multiple leveled. Evidently, as Steve indicated, the plugs need to be authorized online (or there is a manual procedure for folks whose systems are not connected to the net). Because my unit is connected, I attempted to launch the standalone programs to kick in the authorization process.

... but I'm running Windows 10 Pro (the RTM set to release on 7/29) ... and the standalone products won't launch (not even in compatibility modes). Consequently, I can't get the *.dll authorized via that method.

I've sent a query to Sonivox regarding the jam, and hope to hear from them soon.
