Ah, different question, or maybe I just didn't read it 
 
I'm not saying this will work, but instead of cutting, try copying, then if that works, go back & delete the originals

Wow, you are right! "Copy Special" works!
 
What remains now is Cakewalk correct the bug with Cut Special.
