The MIDI note choice seems to be extremely restricted.  Any chance you could let us select whatever note we want?  Am I missing a configuration maybe as I'm only seeing 35 to 53?

Can someone confirm if this is true?
Does this present a real limitation in practice?
I have watched the videos but I don't know how it works in detail.
Drum Replacer sounds like a productivity booster so I may risk moving to the download-only distribution method.
But if it still has issues, I'll wait.

Hi man, I did a video on this on my youtube channel. The available midi notes don't restrict you at all. Say for example your drum software has a drum you want to trigger and it's note is 54(just for this example.) Well all you have to do is change that within your drum software, change that drums note from 54 to 53, All drum software can do this and it mean then you can use midi note 53 in drum replacer.

Can't fathom why this limitation was introduced at all.

I suspect that the midi notes in drum replacer are common to most drum software, for example 36 will be the kick in ezdrummer, addictive drums etc, same with snare being 38. The available notes would also be the drums that are most commonly replaced. It could also be that the midi notes provided are all generic no matter what drum software you use, but when you go outside these notes, those notes would be specific to the drum software.

Is there a way of getting a MIDI track for a drum instead of an audio track as shown in this clip?
Our drummer introduces different degrees of rimshot, strikes, plays press rolls, etc. which I then break out to different midi channels.
 

I know how to set my drum maps, but I primarily use BFD3 and use extended kits.  I have the BFD3 kit maps already linked to other functions and applications, so I don't want to change them.  I'd rather have a tool that I can point to the kit piece I want.  So if this remains this way, I won't be using it.

Oh ok, I was Just trying to give you a workaround, Hopefully they introduce mapping functionality to drum replacer for you cos it's a great tool.

Yes, you can drag and drop from the DR clip to a MIDI track to extract the MIDI.
