Finally spent a little looking at StudioOne, and I really like their Arranger track. I would love to have something similar in Sonar to quickly remodel a whole song, insert new sections, without complex copy/paste/cuts. Even just looking at a song with a larger track for sections would help (something like a lane for markers with colors for sections).
The fx splitter is kinda cool too but I can live without it. Also they have nice midi type of plugins (splitters, arpeggiators, etc.).

Erik.

The feature request already exists. The discussion should occur in this thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3104937

Thanks - was not aware of the feature forum. I hope it is on the radar of the bakers...

You seem to want Sonar to be Cubase one minute and Studio 1 the next.

I wish my Chevy truck had Ford rear view mirrors.....actually I wish it was a Ford but I digress.

Yeah, lets just not add anything new that is seen as useful by the user base in other DAWS.

Make a feature request don't wait on someone else to do it. You have to put it on their radar.

There is already a request. Please do not encourage duplicate requests. Duplicates get merged.

Hi Charly-

If there are features in Cubase and/or Studio One that SONAR users would like to see in SONAR, then why shouldn't they advocate for them? I don't see that as meaning they want SONAR to be another DAW at all. By now, pretty much every feature request is something that can be done in another DAW or done more easily or if it's brand new, by definition it's not already in SONAR or Cubase or Studio One.

I like the FR for an Arranger Track ala Studio One and I voted for it.

I'm a techie and been around since the CP/M days of Supercalc and Wordstar, and now I'm on Win10. Having more than one company develop a certain type of software gives us choices.  Taken to the extreme, if every program looks and feels like the competitor, what's the point of multiple programs in a given field?
In the auto industry, the only difference between mfgs would be the color of the paint.

PS- I may have been a touch sarcastic in that post, but this is the first PC forum I've been on where a huge number of folks either use old outdated versions on old pc/OS, or seem to want the software to conform to their workflow, rather than conforming their workflow to the newest versions. How's that for a run-on sentence?

For those interested in this feature see Noel's comment http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3256876 in the FR thread.
