Hello,

I am unable to determine if this is the forum I should be posting this problem in.

is this screen shot helpful?

Try using 24 bit instead of 32, and see if that helps. What are your specs? Processor, RAM, etc.?

Is this the area within SONAR I apply your suggestion?

Btw, these are my current settings,

Please let me know what I can do to supply your team with the best information as possible.

If this is no longer the forum I should post in then would someone tell me where I should be posting?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

In the initial picture, Massive is running stand alone with SONAR in the foreground. Have you tried loading SONAR only, configure your MIDI device inside SONAR then load Massive as a VST in SONAR?

Some of the information is helpful.. But to get a better picture of what is happening.. A bit more is required. For example how big are your hard drives and how much free space is on them? Take a screen shot of "task manager" performance tab.. Before starting Sonar and after Sonar has started. See if there is a free memory checker that can be downloaded to determine if there is a bad memory stick (MemTest86) and Microsoft has one also. Does the keyboard work with other synths in Sonar.. Use an  empty project, load a synth and see if you get error with Samson.  In your screenshot is that Massive loaded standalone in the background?. If so, close Massive stand alone , run sonar and load Massive from the synth rack.  I an not sure if Massive standalone is using the Samson and then Sonar calls the Samson Midi driver, if this is not the cause of the error in Sonar. IHTH....

Cool guys!

I am going to apply your info and combine it with this cool video on Sonar and MIDI setup.

I'll be getting back to you with your keen PC performance suggestions.

Then i'll be rollin man! :-)

thanks!

Update...

I've gotten a good response from SONAR by lowering the buffers to absolute minimum.
Keyboard playing, playback and recording sound good.

I am just using SONAR for three to eight critical instruments covering the rhythm, melody, and harmony of the few songs on the mainly vocal-centric EP.

When I publish I'll use the proceeds to upgrade the laptop and to partner with an internet or local production haus.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

P.S. I don't know how to unpack .iso images for the MemTest86. I don't see an .exe file offered there.
Is there one I overlooked?
