Are there tools in Sonar, and if so what would be the best way to create a drumtrack to match a guitar track recording? I am having someone record a guitar part (to  metronome) but I have no drum part as yet.

If he plays to the metronome at the project tempo(s) set in Sonar it shouldn't be a problem. Are you planning on using a drum vsti i.e. Addictive Drums. If so the midi output can sync to the project tempo. If you're planning on live drums the drummer can play to the same metronome from the project. If you're recording outside of Sonar and importing wave files it will help to have a metronome track to adjust the tempo map in Sonar.

thx bluzdog...drums will be AD2. Can you explain your last sentence a little further please? I am unclear on it..DOes it mean the wav file can be manipulated to match a slightly different tempo? And/or can the wav file be quantized usign groove quantize (or is this only for MIDI data) - I have never used Groove Quantize, only standard.
 
The guitar recording is being done in an other location...
