• SONAR
  • X3 erroneously auto completing?

I'd like to know how to stop Sonar X3 from automatically making wrong assignments.

3 issues I'm currently having:

1) When inserting an audio track, the track shows up as a mono track by default, which is what I want. The only time I ever want to record a stereo track (as opposed to a pair of mono tracks) is when I'm importing a stereo track into a project. Sometimes when I start to record a track it automatically turns into a stereo track though it has a mono source. I have to notice it and quickly stop recording, delete the track and insert another audio track. How do I stop that?

2) When I insert an audio track lately it is automatically assigned to the "guitar" stereo bus as if it assumed that once I started recording guitars I'd never want to record anything else

3) I'd like to be able to insert an audio (or midi) track and have it come out a certain size where I wouldn't have to re-size it to access the input and output menus. Depending on the song, a new track is inserted either as just a little too small, height-wise, or almost exactly minimized.

a) When a new audio track is inserted, my inputs always default to "None" so the first job is always to allocate the correct input source.
 b) There is never a need to delete a track in this situation, just reset the input channel & set the track interleave in the inspector to mono
c) When importing tracks there is never a need to set input channels - output channels yes (see 2 below). the only exception would be if you want to record supplementary audio to the same track. I cannot think of a valid reason for doing so.

2) When I insert an audio track lately it is automatically assigned to the "guitar" stereo bus as if it assumed that once I started recording guitars I'd never want to record anything else

New tracks will adopt whichever bus has been designated as Default. To change it, select the bus you DO want as default and, er, select Default Bus

Edited to add C) above

Same here that isn't the problem.

Thanks. I forgot about that function of the inspector. I'd still like to know why the channels are automatically switched to stereo from mono when I start recording since it stops me from recording and makes me correct it.

Let's forget about importing tracks since I have no problem with that.

How? And how is it being automatically assigned? I notice if I've recorded a few vocal tracks it will sometimes start defaulting to the vocal stereo bus.
