  • Need Help to Verify Issue !

I would appreciate it if anyone can validate the problem I have been experiencing for All versions of Sonar since X1!
Here goes: Whenever I create a track with plugins for vocal processing (usually VX-64 or Sonitus Reverb) and I set automation tracks to "Mute" the plugins before and after the vocalist would perform the following occurs.
An asterisk appears after the Project title which of course will prompt a request to save the file when closing!

This causes me problems when performing live with the playlist. The "Save File" dialogue box will of course disrupt the playlist waiting for a response before proceeding. In Version X1 the playlist would ignore the dialogue box and proceed on without saving the changes ! (Fine with me)!
Regardless of the Playlist behavior I do not see the reason for Sonar to report a change in the project when the only thing that is asked is to "Play" the project.

I have asked Tech Support to look into this for many months now and they have as yet been able to duplicate the issue I experience!
Hoping someone out there can duplicate the problem, or better yet know the cause and a FIX!
I will be happy to provide a sample project for anyone to test on their system !

Thanks,

Roger Cousins

Hi. Giving us your specs will help eliminate (cpu, RAM, HD configuration, audio interface etc).
Are you fully updated? Windows, drivers for AI, GPU, etc. Are you using an USB2 device in a usb3 port?
Any changes to your pc of lately? I would leave autosave of for recording sessions, but others may know better.
That is it from the top of my head...
Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply Ken,

Hope my specs are now a part of my signature. (New Here) I am constantly updating trying to resolve this issue so I believe I am fully up to date. I do have some lingering questions about my video card as it was a source of some tweaking when I first got my system from Wooter @ Reyniers Audio. I have tried the newest drives without success, so I returned to the delivered setup!

The problem persists across all of my projects (MIDI). I would be happy to send a project to see if the problem presents on other systems! I am going to look at the autosave idea as soon as I type this message.

Regards,

Roger

This is almost certainly caused by a plugin or plugins and not Sonar. You need to rule out the plugin that is doing this, and then replace it.

Agree with the Doktor. Are you using both firewire drivers (legacy and Presonus) for your AI? I might be wrong, but I would be using the latest Presonus drivers, and disable the legacy driver.
Best of luck.
