Focusrite Academy is Focusrite’s new free online video tutorial site dedicated to teaching music production newcomers the art of recording acoustic and electric instruments of all kinds.
 
In these days of prefab loops and multisampled virtual drum kits, if you really want your drum tracks to stand out, you need to record them yourself. In Focusrite Academy’s Recording Drums series, you’ll learn how to produce professional sounding live drum kit mixes on any budget.

Not had a chance to peruse deeply, but that drum section done so far is pretty impressive in look and scope. It seems Focusrite and iZotope are the only two putting real effort into making videos to promote understanding that is universal rather than pitching a product (ironically, companies that do that often end up selling their products).

They just sent out an email on Recording Guitar yesterday. Not gotten to look at it yet, but wanted to pass it on.
