It's kinda funny, we use multitasking tools, we multitask but we somehow can't fathom CW being able to work on bugs and features at the same time.......

fast bounce is not an issue for me so no dog in the fight...

Well if you put in new features you need to fix the bugs that come with them. More new code more bugs to fix. Prefer bugs were fixed with old code first .. Of course by for fixing bugs you may get new bugs but you get there in the end. If you keep introducing new code you never seem to get there... Anyways it's a temp blip I'm sure...

OR if you spend all of your time fixing bugs, there will be NO features until the code is flawless, and we know when that will happen. Dang I screwed up and responded.....

You assume there will be a time when any programs code is perfect?

I am a user from Pro Audio 9 but I am coming to the opinion that SPlat is becoming all fancy toys and less functional.

I think this poorly phrased. I would not put it like that.

However I would like to see a return to fixing and improving the meat and potatoes of Sonar (pre Platinum). If we look at the last few releases it's been more about fixing issues with the new Platinum features. I'm glad they are being fixed rather than not, don't get me wrong but I want existing functionality improved. I hope there will be less new headline features, and more exisiting workflow tweaks and fixes from next month. More streak and potatoes and less cucumber please.. Core program still needs improvement.

+1 - completely agree.
I guess you don't see or read about all the little things that are regularly being attended to. This is an ongoing process that allows the inclusion of new features as well as a balanced dispersion of development resources to fix chronic issues. With this new model there have been a few highlight bugs that have been pounced on and fixed within a matter of days to a week. In any case none of those issues have left Sonar unusable for anyone, and with the roll back function you can easily escape to the version you were using before you updated.
With pre Platinum versions before my retirement, I would quarantine a new release and be sure before it became my production environment. In this new release model I would be maybe 3 weeks behind. But despite that there a people using sonar in high turn over rapid media creation jobs that have little problem keeping up with the present release cycle and getting through their work OK

A much better process than in the past. And you can bet that while all this is going on there is development ongoing in big ticket items for release in the next 6 to twelve months.

I also can confirm these problems.

I did not use tempo changes but "old" bit bridge plugins give a measure of delay when freezing. and when bouncing to resulting in a few tracks a measure off sync with the rest of the song.

I didn't try the fast bounce uncheck option. Gonna check that out.

Will the "alpa" that Noël posted also fix the timing issue when bouncing bit bridge plug ins?

Great read! This squashes my agenda to update to Foxboro this weekend. Very glad this was found out and that a fix is forthcoming next week. Thanks for your attention to it today Noel!

I'll just install when the updated update is released.

@Mudgel You quoted three people so not sure who you are targeting. If it wasn't me please ignore this... If it's me I guess you didn't read my post. I was comparing the last few Platinum releases to the previous ones, not X3E.Nor did I say the release schedule isn't an improvement over X3E, as I've always stated, a huge improvement. Of course I read the release notes esp the fixes, that's where my opinion is 100% formed. I'm not worried about the latest round of bugs I haven't installed F yet And won't until another emergency release comes across. It's clear installing the latest update straight away isn't a particularly wise thing to do.

My simple point is I wanted to see more work done on pre Sonar Platinum functionality. Reading the posts here since the release of Platinum I dont think I'm in the minority. The last two releases seem to be more about new features and fixing new features (and before somebody says it again yes there was some work done on pre Platinum features but not so much over the last few months). If you read all the releases notes from the beginning you will see what I mean. And before somebody says it, I'm NOT complaining just making a request, and I'm just hoping next month is back on course.

Noel & fellow musicians,

I tested the "alpha" Foxboro build Noel supplied.

I can confirm this fixes my issue with the bad timing on bit bridge plugins :)

freezing works and fast render. I can Imagine it working for tempo changes to.

Thank you Noel for supplying such a quick fix and bakers for fixing stuff.

Whoopsie. That's a pretty big deal. Hopefully a fix will be forthcoming.

This is why I would like to be able to download previous versions from a list in case I missed them. For example I'd like to try out Everett, neglected to download it in time so I either stay on Dorchester or dl Foxboro which, based on these reports, has a pretty nasty bug.

I'm sure Foxboro will be fixed but still would like to have all versions of the subscription period available for download perpetually. Now I can't access the Drum Replacer or other newer stuff without snagging this problem as well.

/offline installer

From what I've been reading, you should be able to rollback to Everett through c3 even if you didn't soecifically download it as Foxboro contains it and "knows" what set of changes to undo...

Please correct me if I'm wrong...
