Isn't it obvious? You cheated on Hypersonic. You can't just think it's going to come back begging for you to use it after you've been with another plugin. Get with the times man! (Not too sure about this problem. Reinstalling SONAR is my best guess.)

It won't work if you use the Insert command. Instead, right-click on an FX bin and insert the synth "manually." Then create a MIDI track for it, and assign the out to Hypersonic.

I use Hypersonic with Sonar 7 but encounter the same problem you describe if I use the standard insert option.

If you are using Hypersonic ver 1.0 that comes on the CD from Steinberg there is a Bug which was patched almost immediately which stops Hypersonic from Crashing I think it's version 1.06, but there is also a version 1.12 which gives you an option of updating just the DLL which is 3.6 Mb , or a 95Mb Download which includes GM Instruments.

If you are already on Hypersonic 2 then the point is moot anyway.

I Have just trolled the Steinberg site and can't find Hypersonic 1 at all. If you need me to email you just the DLL give me a shout

I'm sure I read it somewhere that Hypersonic 2 was causing crashes as well.... I believe it was the VSTi which made Sonar crash while the DXi loaded without an issue.

That's correct.
The DXi is a lot more flexible as you can display bank and patch names which comes in handy. This is one instance where the Dxi implementation is way better than the VSTi.

On an audio or synth track channel in the mixer there is a black square. Right-click on it, and you have the option to insert effects or instruments (VST and DX).

Have a look
