having to 'save as type' cwb every time - tedious

Just select the type. There is a little down arrow next to where the name is typed. You want cwp.

It works like every windows program where there are different file types that can be saved.

we should be able to save cwb in one cntrl+s, just like cwp.

with frequent minute by minute saving, having to specify the existing file type every time is extremely tedious:
that must be why they allow cntr+s with cwp...

Hi. I (almost) never save as a bundle (cwb, which makes a full copy of entire project, that will be saved as well as project cwp), unless I have to take it someone else for further work, or to save a finished project for (perhaps) later editing. I usually save as cwp, with copy audio with project selected (it's own folder for each projects, selected under Preferences (P) .
Best of luck.

Sorry but this is user error.
Bundles are for backward compatability and date back to a time when file compression wasn't a standard Wimdows function.
Not recommended.
If you insist on using bundle files then:
The appropriate workflow is to create a cwp file, then it will save as a background process. When you're finished your project and want to archive it then save as a .cwb.

The way you're using it, or wanting to use it, you have to invoke the compression algorithm every time you save.

A bundle file is for archiving and moving from ons system to another. It is not a file type for project saving. That is done with a cwp file. When you save a cwb file Sonar has to unbundle it and create a cwp Cakewalk project of it to load into Sonar.

Its a waste of time unless you need to back up your project.

In the manual under bundle.

Here's a link to the online help, scroll down to bundle and see the various links underneath.
You may have to select Index if the page doesn't open there.

First hit for google "cakewalk sonar bundle file format" - specifies the cwb file is for backup and transportation. Also dont forget about site:forum.cakewalk.com for searches within the forum themselves.
