Use your Sonar and when it gets broken switch to Cakewalk by Bandlab.

Yep.  And that point you'll be very glad Cakewalk by Bandlab is free!

If the musical output of some people was a tenth as much as their negative posts, the world would have a musical revolution.

As long as you like negative music

If the musical output of some people was a tenth as much as their meaningless sarcasm posts, the world would have a musical revolution.

Oh man, someone has to make a satire piece of music about this.
I thought I found it!
Platinum forever!
Just sit around on my butt,
new free synths forever!
I don't have to work no more,
till 2094 more premium content.

I don't have time to do something better, so apologises,
but someone has to write that song!

Maybe we should just find cracked versions of all the Cakewalk software we bought. That would solve everything.

That's hilarious, and no, I'm not being sarcastic! Thankfully I wasn't drinking anything while sitting at the keyboard. I would have to be cleaning it instead of writing this post.

It looks like for the most part they seem pretty stoked that the code base and a couple of key developers were picked up by a new company, but there are a few of them who seem to have what I consider to be unrealistic expectations based on buyers' remorse and an utter lack of understanding of contracts.

I enjoy the contributions of the former and roll my eyes at the posts of the latter, but I wouldn't call them "nothing." I hope that they settle down and enjoy the new, improved versions of the software that they will now be getting just as they would have, probably better, if Gibson had kept the division alive.

That's my review, from a newcomer!

HARDDRlVER
I'm gonna go out on a limb here to guess that all those who thumb their noses at the disgruntled lifers...had a version lower than the lifetime update package.
Those who paid for the lifetime updates got the shaft from Gibson. They offered up their hard earned money with a smile and a dedication to the company.
They then saw this same company pull the rug out from under them, only to find another company giving away that same product they paid dearly for.
Yeah, they have a few bells and whistles left over from the fire, but nothing makes up for the double slap in the face, I'm sure.
BandLab didn't have to do ANYTHING...for ANYONE.
However, they DID choose to leave the lifers out in the cold when they decided to give everyone else something for nothing.

You kids who DID receive something for nothing have no clue what that feels like.

Stop your bullying of those who've received nothing of value out of this, and are simply licking their wounds.

You might say the lifers...at Gibson...were put to the front of the pack.

With BandLab's decision to simply give away the produc has completely reversed their position.

The only ones who have benefited in this giveaway are those who DIDN'T have the lifetime update plan.

I feel the one's who are actually the complainers are those who are going off on the lifers.
Why should you even care that they are complaining?
You've just received a brand new toy you paid nothing for!
Why aren't you off in your little studio applying yourselves?
What do you care of their misfortune?
That's why I say it looks to me like you're just thumbing your noses at those who took the leap and invested.in the L.U...you're acting like a bunch of bratty kids.

And why is it YOU who are addressing them, anyway?

Receiving a nice little gift like this...it's not enough that you need to rub [it] in?

Give it time, thier issues will pass. Just don't expect them to jump for joy over this, too quickly. The dust has hardly settled for them...while you have just received a nice shiny new golden egg that you paid absolutely nothing for.

Have a little respect.
Let them vent.

Pick up your fallen comrade. Don't mock him and tell him his wounds shouldn't pain.

Back at Gibson they/you were all part of the same family.

Why not try to keep it that way.

Just my two synths.

peace

As a Lifetime User, I suggest not ging any further on that limb.

Yes, Gibson pulled a  fast one.
No, Bandlab didn't leave me out in the cold, they revived the product I invested in.
Calling everyone bratty and kids, is bratty in itself, the average age of repliers is probably around 45.
He addressed a forum, and the forum responded, that's what forums are for.
