  • New Foxboro bounce madness?

i had a project done two versions ago in Platinum that I needed to bounce a track out of today. I'd already updated to Foxboro and read the attendant bounce problem posts but as I was bouncing in real time thought I'd have no problem. However, the bounce as played back in Wndows Media Player was pitched up a couple of steps and sped up. I checked all my settings and tried again...same result. I then rolled back Sonar one version, exported the file again and got the same result. I then imported the bad exported file into sound forge and re saved it as an MP3. And then it played back fine...as did then the original exported file. So...I think WMP got its brain scrambled by Sonars first attempt at an export. But since it was a real time export I thought this shouldn't happen. Anyone else seeing this? I know Noel's supposed to be fixing it...or is he?

The fast bounce issue was related to rendering soft synths in projects with tempo changes. I don't think there's been any issue with audio tracks. Based on what you describe it sounds like nothing was ever wrong with any of the exports, it was just an issue with WMP playing 44.1kHz files at 48kHz.

Yea...it sounded like a sample rate mismatch to me as well...just wanted to see if there was any connection to the Foxboro thingy.

No connection esp if you rolled back and had the same result. If WMP was set to play from your audio interface it looks like it played at the wrong sample rate. The bounced file was probably ok - you can verify by rebooting and playing it again.

Yup...once put through Soundforge all was A-OK. WMP, the most likely culprit. Scared me though...the Client was expecting it in 30 minutes:-)
