Hey Guys:
I've checked help, but can't seem to find an answer: is there a way to store session notes with a Sonar project?  Something like "This song is in G, and the guitar is capoed on the 4th fret".  It would help me a lot!

Thanks as always.

Each track has a note section. Look in the track Inspector.

There is a Project info page that can be set to open first as the project opens.

There is a utility created by one of our forum members. ProjectScope is available for download. See the link in my signature for info regarding several utilities with download instructions and more info.

There's a very very old plugin, that I think still works, called "dxpad".  (free download)  You can put 'sticky' notes anywhere that suits you.   Neither the track info from the inspector nor the project info page suit me, so i often create an extra midi track and put notes to myself in as Text midi items.

There's another one called vst notes. I don't think dxpad was ever updated to 64 bit and 32 bit DX plugs won't work in Sonar x64. Or any 64 bit host for that matter. You have to start mucking about with wrappers and stuff. A real pain.

There's quite a few folks who use your idea William about an extra midi track with text in it.

There's also a sticky notes program for Windows. The sticky note will stick to any window. So if you put them in Track view they stay there, console view etc whatever window you like. They're color coded and searchable etc. quite flexible if you need such extensive information.

I've always used the Project Notes accessed off the main menu by Project/Info.

Does that work for you?

For whatever the worth, I frequently just create one or more text or Word documents that I save in the project folder, with whatever information I wish to maintain on that project.

This way, I never have to rely on any particular utility program being maintained and functional when I need to go back and pull up information.

And, as the information is stored completely independently of the project, other than being kept in the same folder, I can have has much info as I wish, including screen shots, audio files of any discussions regarding the project, whatever I want or need.  I can also pull up any of that info prior to having to open up the project.

This is in addition to any track notes I may create within a project.

I use Simplenote, a great cloud based note app across platforms. So even when I'm away from Sonar, I can add new notes and thoughts about the tracks I'm currently working on.

If you use the Google Chrome browser, there's a free Google app (Google Keep) that works great. I've got it running on my phone, tablet and PC. Por ejemplo:
