I heard from a very well informed source that Ikea has been seriously considering the purchase of Reaper, in order to give it for free along with certain popular computer desks kits. Apparently they think that Reaper's DIY approach to workflow and customization fits perfectly within Ikea's corporate culture. Plans are going for deeper modularity, basically providing a list of features and a graphic toolbox for interface design, plus a scripting language that anyone capable of understanding a standard Ikea assembly instructions sheet will be able to use, so any hipster can have his or her own unique personalized DAW, along with some stylish desk that everyone has. New User Guide will be a totally wordless animated graphic multilanguage online document, that will give birth to a new paradigm, WTFM, ("Watch This Fine Manual", not "WTF, man", as some cynics might think), that will render the old RTFM obsolete for good.
I don't want to sound ominous, but I think Cakewalk should be very worried. In the meantime, I cannot sleep at night trying to think of an excuse for substituting my solid wood desk for a paper paste and melamine workstation without my significant other thinking that I lost the little brain I had left. :(
But let's face it...it was worth leaving this thread intact because there was the above post
The OP is probably the same guy who walked into Guitar Center, bought a Les Paul, and returned it three days later because it didn't play like Jimmy Page.
