The AUD.ini entry is PicCacheMB details here http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X2&Lang=EN&Req=INI_Files.6.html#1134652

You can get to it by Edit > Preferences > Configuration files "Edit Config File" button.

I will take a look at that Migueleto. Thank you. This really should not be occurring and I'm very disappointed. I think I may actually contact support even if this does work. Real show stopper.

What scook wrote...and if you are worried about the file deletion just move all the files to a new folder for safety. What's that saying "measure twice, cut once"

The picture cache directory should contain only WOV and WTR files. They are temporary files that are safe to delete. Copying them off if it makes you feel better. I'd still call support about the whole mess though, that is what phone support is for.

That didn't work. Darnit. I may have to do this part of the project in X1 if X2 just can't handle it. Then again who knows if X1 will behave any better. I also don't like the idea of not having the time ruler drag/zoom function. What... a... drag.

Tried again clearing the entire folder. Nothing. I looked at that Picture Cache setting in Preferences and it's at 500MB but I think that's just the size of the folder allowance before things get deleted automatically. Don't think that will do it.

IDK... I think I've got two options here. Do not turn off my computer until I have completely finished adding the transients, done the stretching and rendered the audio or try X1 and hope it is more stable. I never touched audiosnap in X1 so I have no idea.

Anyway.. thanks for the input, guys. I did learn some stuff here... just didn't fix my problem. After I closed the project and shut down last night I got this sinking feeling that I should have left the system on. Oops. Live and learn.

After poking at it some more I think the project is simply corrupted somehow. If I allowed one edge of the clips to remain visible I could zoom in but sweeping the cursor around would make the transient markers appear/disappear randomly. I tried to give myself a little more room by dragging the track pane divider to the left and when I tried to drag it back the clips pane spilled over the divider and the graphics would freeze up. I could only get the track pane back by opening and closing the inspect via keybindings. If I tried to select the visible transients by clicking or lassoing they wouldn't select at all. The project is scrap. I'll have to start from an earlier version.

Just wanted to document the problem.

Edit: Oh and for some reason shut down of the computer took an unusually long time. Not sure what that was about. Maybe it was trying to clear the RAM or something.

Sorry you're having such a difficult time Beepster and I couldn't be of more help. Hope you get it all straight soon.

@mmorgan... Naw, you taught me a little tidbit about the cache preference setting. May not have fixed the problem at hand but it is knowledge and appreciated. I'm just grumpy because I'm in pain today and I'm disappointed that I lost my work from yesterday. It was all just a tester sample anyway of how I'm going to deal with the larger project so it's not like I can't go back and start over. I was however very close to getting to the next phase of the test (actually stretching the audio) so it's frustrating. This is typical in my world though. Two steps forward, five steps sideways. Tomorrow I'll try X1 and see if that's any better or maybe just commit to completing the entire process in one session with X2 in hopes it remains stable long enough to do what I want.

Thanks for trying. Cheers.

I hate to necropost but I just ran into this exact issue using X3 Producer. Noticed one of my clips not displaying the audio waveform but continued to work in the project when I went to save I got an error message (forgot what it said) and could only save the project under a different name. When I opened it back up that's when all my transient that I had previously worked on got all screwy, It seems to have saved my edits I just can't properly view the transients.

Anyone have a suggestion as to what is going on here or another related thread to link me to.

My current work around is to switch the track to Clips view, use the Bounce to Clip option, then when I switch the track back to audio transients I can see them again. Clearing Picture Cache does nothing must be some kind of project corruption.
