Hi,

Sorry about the title couldn't think of a way to put it across!

Basically in Cubase if I created a drum pattern using midi and then split the drum pattern down the middle so it becomes to separate pieces on the same track and click on piece 1 it would only show the notes in piece 1 and if I went to piece 2 it would only show the notes in piece 2.

In X3 if i do the same and split a midi track and click on piece 1 it shows all the notes for all pieces. Is there a way I can make it so it only shows the midi notes in the piano roll for the selected piece?

Hope that makes sense

Kind Regards
Joe

Hi. There is a way to show selected notes only. I do not have SONAR in front of me, but someone will probably come and give you the right recipe.
Best of luck.

Hi again. I have SONAR Platinum (in front of me), but I believe that it is the same in X3.

Joe,

The PRV in Sonar always shows the data from all clips on the selected track, whether the clips are selected or not.

The only way I know to simulate the workflow you want is to mute the clip or clips in the Track view that you don't want to view and turn on the Hide Muted Clips option in the PRV View menu.  This isn't a great solution, because the constant muting and un-muting of clips in the Track view could quickly become a PITA.

Maybe someone else has a better solution to offer you.
