  • Wow! I only have 6 more manually selected updates to install

Now, I may be cranky because it took 5 calls to my ISP this morning to get this far. The solution to DL problems occurs this month when I get fiber. Even so, I realize that these 'updates' are 'optional' but one at a time? really ???

This is a new 'registration option' with the 'shop', more or less, so appears to be actually obligatory. I bought in back in Dec (prior to release) as I really wanted a X4, but now have Pro. I'm very unhappy about the amount of redundant data included in the packages just to address a registrations issue for packages I just installed? Give me the monolithic option that will run overnight (at 1Gbs to an autonomous USB3 drive. I'll consider the install order as time becomes available. I'm afraid I'll be preparing for the next update before I even get a chance to spend more than 16 hrs with this one. And this is my holiday weekend to spend with Sonar. I'm doing maintenance instead.

Please explain how "optional" future updates will be?

I do them manually from my account, thus enabling me to download as many files simultaneously as I choose.
For this exercise its worth changing you browser download folder to coincide with your CCC download folder
As small ones download I install them using the CCC. It immediately looks for and recognises that the file is in the download folder.
Installation sadly is still one at a time. But with this regimen by the time the largest file is downloaded everything is already installed and ready to go. It's just a compromise, but if you've got to sit there might as well be for the least time necessary.

I do think that there may be a few pain points that need to be addressed with the command center.  As a 30 year veteran of all things IT, however, I can imagine that it is quite a task getting all the various developers ready for each release. Putting them all into one automated install would require more than a few pizza lunches and maybe a Foosball or Air Hockey table and an X-box.

I would guess I am about 3/4 of the way through this update for an estimated total of 75 minutes.  I don't think it is your download speed that is the issue, but I do agree that running each update one at a time is boring.

This thread discusses definite, proposed and possible changes to the CCC v1.1 that will be released in July.

Hi, actually that is why I'm doing my ~3 month review and update of the CW forums, recent posts and I post my experience summary updates and questions. I can usually arrange one weekend to play, one weekend record/write, one weekend to update quickly, as required. I rotate through FLS, BiaB, Sonar. I'm pretty sure this Sonar update will be required, yet still won't register my previous VST purchases. (No lie. Even the manual DL store lost my Rapture purchase and now want me to re-install a new R v1.0. I'm considering my options.) This was my weekend to play with Sonar. I'm disappointed as I'm not learning what I'd hoped to understand.

My SoundCenter DLis about 60% done, so maybe dinner for me, before the next one ??

I'll probably be asleep before they all get installed so I can even consider what else needs updates after a 'optional' Sonar update.

I've actually setup a 1GB RAM drive for just such junk as tmp DL files, install junk, etc. It works real well with extractions and encryption and remains volatile.

Hey, 77% - I'm eating now!

I would love to go to that link, mudgel.  Unfortunately I cant make it work even when I copy and paste the whole thing.

One thing that would be helpful would be if it did not need to rescan after each individual install.  And all those read-me files that pop up, some way to get back to them because when I am installing, I am installing.  They are all lost now.

Am I incorrect in understanding this as perhaps a request for installation log files, including termination msgs?

Just a typo in the word findpost. All fixed.

Oh, baby. That next DL is going to be soo sweet. My Help Doc's are just over 50%. Praise the "word" of your choice. Of, course, I can't actually see how many moreDL's I might need to try to queue just tonight. I think that its just 3, but I'm frequently wrong about these things.

I put on my vinyl "It's a Beautiful Day", but White Bird will wait until after a bit ...

Great, 62% now.

Onto the Anderton Collection. Finished just one side of Firesign Theatres 'Everything You Know Is Wrong'.
