  • Any thoughts on actually running SPro while C3 does it's biz?

I'm boring and try to avoid surprises. So, since this is my SPro weekend, and while the FB manually gets digested:
Can SPro be running while C3 patiently does its thing? I suspect not, and haven't tried yet, but at least I could get started again with my last project during the wait, if possible. The incentive is that: it would reduce the number of my posts this weekend.

I await an answer in "Anticipation", as they say.

Your posts tend to suggest that, but you'll find there's all sorts of people tolerated here.

In the meantime. If you want to I don't see why not. I don't have any problem downloading files while on the net. If an installation accesses a component within Sonar it will tell you it can't access that file and ask you to close the program.

You can't update SONAR while it's running, but I think the content should be okay...

It's not the DL, it is the "automatic installer" for say some VST included SPro instrument package. You apparently do the manual process from the store, so I'd like to report that C3 is no more efficient. I keep trying C3 out to provide feedback. Note how particularly true this is for some suggested parallel 32/64b installations to recover those 32b VST tracks with having to render down to audio. There's another thread on that.

Well, I'm just working on dinner, so I'll give it a try. Let's see how this works across a reboot.

Meanwhile, I've put on my Jefferson Starship 'Dragonfly' on vinyl, and it's clean. I think I can link back as an input to my USB interface via a HW mixer.

I work in SPlat while the CCC is downloading. Like Craig said, you have to pause while it updating.

Thank you. It clearly isn't 'best practices', so I'll avoid it. I suspected as much but it does play into the whole subscription "time is money" arguments. Just asking.

Maintenance should always be budgeted for. If ''' time is money ''' buy two PC's and run Sonar on one whilst the other updates. Or just don't install the update. Plenty of options.
