Screen set to hide them? I don't need this, but i remember Anderton addressed this once.
Right-click on each fader you want to lock, and then select Value > Set Snap-to = Current. Double-click on the fader to restore it to the locked setting.
Even better...you can have independent Snap To settings for the Console Fader, Inspector Fader, and Track View fader. Double-click on any of those faders to return to the Snap To value you set for that fader.

While trying to explore with different levels on a track but you also like the current value, this thing is very useful to snap back. I recently also developed a habit of
keeping the track intact and doing the changes in an aux track. While this is a little more work to create an aux track and change the output routing, it does comeout very handy. When ever I look at these aux track I get remembered that I have made these recent changes and I can check the old levels in the uneffected channel. Its also easy to A B the changes this way.
