I think .SNG format was also used by Texture when saving linked pattern files. Same ERA differnt day ?

I still have my original Texture floppy disks -- that was fun, too!

You guys need to stop this right now. Even though I sequenced on a 512KB Mac back then, these flashbacks are still making me dizzy!

P.S. Anybody for a 320KB floppy?

(Actually, that's a floppy. OW!)

HI Carlos-
P.S. Anybody for a 320KB floppy?

Don't get me started on 5-1/4" floppies! You wouldn't like me if I got started on 5-1/4" floppies!

Oh, you mean those flyswatters with missing handles? OK, then how about punch cards? Remember hanging chads? Not the ones from 2000... we're talking the IBM kind.

(P.S. Sorry lizardfolk, this is just too much fun. I really do want to know when you figure out how to un-archive your petrified MIDI files. It's kind of cool, both geeky and cool.)

Hey - is that the same "Jim Wright" who was one of the original authors of Seq+?

(I know I am the same "Bruce Frazer" who helped with that)

How about the 8 inch ones and the 12 inch removable HDs that stored 5 Mbs Shame on you for bringing it all back! Oh the humanity

Oh I just remembered about core memory. I moved a Remington Rand core memory computer to my basement many years ago. That thing weigh a ton. It had paper tape! It ran a form of COBOL

FWIW the current Voyetra sequencer "Record Producer"s help file says
SNG
This is the song file format used by Voyetra's Sequencer Plus series. Record Producer can read .SNG files, but it cannot save in this format.

Though I don't know if its true for Record Producer (a quick install reveals SNG NOT in the open or import file dialogs but a drag&drop of a midi file renamed as .SNG works), it is true for its previous incarnation Digital Orchestrator Pro.

Rec Prod can run on Win98 & Win XP, DOP only works up to Win98.

HTH

edit to add : if Sen's offer doesn't work out let me know & we'll try DOP
