I notice our systems are similar;
will test when in the studio and report.

Thanks for the help!

I set the Windows audio input and output to my internal sound card. I started Sonar and tried audition again but it crashed just like before.

Each time I go into Sonar, I have to go to the preferences Drum Map Manager and re-assign one note to the drum map. I think this is the drum map bug that was introduced recently and will be fixed very soon.

I ma curious if anyone else is able to audition?

OK try not running Sonar as Admin. That's my last guess .
You might want to look at the Windows event viewer for more detail.

:-)

Thanks

I think I have to run Sonar as admin or other things don't work. However, I can't remember what lol

I am looking at the even viewer. There isn't anything obvious. I will keep looking.

BTW I did the same steps in Sonar X3 but using Dimension Pro. It does not work either. I tried with Windows audio set to my interface and not set to my interface.

I finally got a chance to call Cakewalk and they were able to reproduce this problem. I am hopeful they will fix it :-)

I have had this happen earlier (cannot quite remember when). But now that it has reached the bakers, it will probably / hopefully be fixed (sooner or later).

I tried it and don't get a crash but if i use a drum map like you there is no sound - if i remove the drum map the sound is back. The problem seems related to drum maps - or maybe we're are not using this option properly.

For the crash - is you HD Audio activated (windows device manager) - if so disable it to see if it solve your crashes

Good luck!

PS. i'm using the latest Everett update

I disabled HD Audio in both Device Manager -> Sounds as well as System Devices.

Unfortunately, Sonar still crashes.

The very first time I tried, after disabling HD Audio, it didn't crash but there was no sound. When I tried again, it crashed. I power cycled my interface and restarted Sonar. This time, it crashed the very first time I tried to audition.

Since Cakewalk was able to reproduce it, hopefully they will find something.

FWIW I tried Process->Quantize->Audition in Foxboro and I have the same issue. Sonar locks up and has to be restarted.
