Hey, guys. I can't seem to find any documentation on this, so I'm turning to the experts. In X2 Professional there is a mastering plug in call IDR, which comes in mono and stereo flavors. I've never used it, and I don't know its purpose. Does anyone have any experience with this one?

My guess is because the plug-in is not part of X2. Could it be a Waves plug-in?

Oh, well duh......just found a tutorial within IDR...stands for Increased Digital Resolution, and it is indeed a Waves plug in. Weird...

IDR is Waves’ proprietary noise-shaped dithering system co-developed by Waves with Michael Gerzon, a
world authority in psychoacoustics. The IDR component in Waves processors can be used to maximize the
digital resolution of the resulting audio. IDR’s design is a result of Mr. Gerzon’s long-term research dating
back to 1982 with many of the other leading experts in digital resolution enhancement technologies.

Glad you found everything, thanks for circling back and updating us. Some people don't think to do that (or are too embarrassed_ so it's always cool when someone does.
