Hi gang, so I decided that the installment thingy was just too sweet and pulled the trigger on a subscription to Pro. Unfortunately, after two weeks I've realized I've made a terrible mistake and really should've just gone with platinum right from the start. LOL

Anyway, I've got a ticket going with Order Support right now, but I figured while I waited, I'd say "hi" and see if anyone has any thoughts/advice/visions of the apocalypse about this. To be honest, I have a sick feeling that it's going to go badly.

My concern is that this whole subscription thing is so new, I might possibly be the first idiot to decide to upgrade after only two weeks, and I'm not sure I want my Paypal account to be the guinea pig.

Mainly I'm concerned about getting Cleverbridge to stop the pro subscription and NOT mess up the Plat subscription. And also, will the XLN installer become aware that it now owes me two more free ADpacks, or am I going to have to haggle with their support to get that happening. =Or did I just completely shaft myself? :(

Anyway, if anyone has already gone through this and knows how it ends, wants to talk me down off the ledge, (or just point and laugh) that would be awesome. ;)

This situation happened with a few people in the beginning of the monthly updates, and it caused problems the first few times. But I think it's sorted out now.

We should be able to make sure you get everything you need without multiple charges. Glad you upgraded! Please contact us for further assistance (or actually you can contact Cleverbridge).

When I have run into problems with a purchase I have called sales and I have never been sorry I did so. They are wonderful in sorting out these sorts of issues. At least they were in the past when I needed things sorted out. I still have good vibs thinking about how helpful they were.

Andrew would calling sales about this problem by the OP be a good idea?

Yeah... you'll be fine if you contact support directly. You've already got Andrew here and he's help me personally in the past.

Essentially it's up to you whether it's gonna get hairy. Keep in contact with support and all should go well. If something screws up they'll fix it.

Best to call them though. Makes things much faster and easier.

Welcome.

Thanks guys! I've been emailing with Phil Slopak and he basically doesn't know what'll happen with the Addictive Drums. And if I understand him correctly, on the cakewalk side of things, I'd be upgrading from Pro to Platinum, but on the cleverbridge side I'd actually have to cancel pro and start Platinum, and so in CCC, it would treat me as a cancellation and strip away my pro install, and then install platinum from scratch. Which is kind of scary. I was hoping it would leave what I have and just download the extra stuff to bring it up to Platinum...

I'm thinking maybe it would be a good idea to contact XLN and Cleverbridge first and let them know what I'm planning and see what they say about it, just so I know what to expect. I've already bought a couple of ADpacks and kit pieces and have been tweaking a keymap and kit settings and maybe can back that data up or something...

Bleh, making life complicated for myself as usual! LOL

Yeah, as everyone says, even if there is a problem with the automatic charging, Cakewalk always sort these things out if you get in touch.

Seriously... just contact the Cakewalk guys. They'll sort you out. Reading your plan... well yeah, you definitely are making things harder than they need to be. The Cake guys will sort out the Cleverbridge stuff and then if there are any issues with XLN you can deal with that as need be (they have gotten a little weird lately) but you can ask the Cake guys about how to deal with that as well.

I'm assumign the XLN issue would just be about acquiring the few extra AD/MIDIpaks that come with Plat over Pro. Might work out automagically anyway but one bridge at a time.

Good luck. SPlat is nice. You'll like it.

Thanks everyone. I have no doubt Cake will make sure everything turns out right, I just like to minimize the surprises. :)
